Pellet fuel silo for large buildings, industries and municipal councils
| MAFA knows how to handle pellet fuel | ||
|
For nearly 50 years MAFA i Ängelholm has constructed and manufactured equipment for storing and handling bulk material. When pellet fuel for heating became interesting 12 years ago we were way ahead of our competitors. Pellet fuel is compact and easy to store, easy to transport, has low water content and high heat value. Reliability of service A pellet fuel plant must be planned for working for many years without any need for service of operation. We offer high competence and service for many years. We have developed highly functional systems for integration in actual environment. Fulfills law and regulations An investment for the future Installing a MAFA pellet fuel plant is an investment for the future. Pellet is a domestic renewable raw material which is positive for the environment. Market leader Today MAFA is market leader in Sweden and more than 50 % of our manufacture is exported. We have up to now delivered more than 50.000 silos and bins for pellet fuel. With MAFA you get skill, good service and the wellknown Swedish quality. We know pellet fuel handling like nobody else. |

choose a round silo. Round silos are stable, reliable, easy to fill and
to empty. As standard equipped with natural ventilation and can be
delivered with covered cone and/or painted. Several models and sizes from 6 m3 to 189 m3. This type of silo needs very little ground space. The Unik-silo is for outdoor use and needs normally a building permission. |

MAFA Succé-BIO is a very flexible silo for storage of fuel pellets. The
silo is modular and can easily be extended in both height and length. It is low
profile and is equipped with a smart, self-draining base that is smooth on the
pellets. - New bottom cone without damper - Emptying through an offset screw box = smooth-running Maflex auger - New type of section and top plates - Enhanced end sections - Fewer bolts - Faster to assemble MAFA Succé-BIO is made entirely of aluminum-zinc sheets, thus suitable even for outdoor use. Also equpped with drip edges and fewer bolts, which makes it simple and easy to assemble. The silo is available in four lengths and five heights, which fulfills most needs |

| System solutions | |||
|
Below are some system solutions showing how a MAFA pellet fuel plant can be adapted to the existing environment. Despite choosing a transport auger system or a vacuum system, you get a a flexible and reliable and easy maintained system. The choice of system depends of the burner. In general around silo is preferred if there is space enough. The system solutions below shall be seen as a planning guide. |

| System C, 1 - 1,5 mW | System D, 500 - 750 kW | ||
|
Suitable silo for a 1 - 1,5 mW plant is a XB 189 (189 m3). Here with a 4 m long 4" auger from a 15-450 hopper. The silo is placed on a concrete bed outside the burner room. |
![]() |
Suitable silo for a 500 - 750 kW plant is a BIB 85 (85 m3). Here with a 4 m long 4" auger from a 15-450 hopper. The silo is placed on a concrete bed outside the burner room. The silo can be delivered with covered cone and/or painted.. |

| Bulk storing pellet fuel | |
| Guidelines: | |
| Silo: | A completely tight silo/container. The silo must contain at least c:a 6 m3 to get the best price of pellet fuel. |
| Filling tube: | Use 102 mm tubes with a bulk connection for filling. The filling tube must be placed near where the bulk lorry unloads. If the filling tube is vertically fitted, the distance from ground to the connector must be < 1,3 - 1,5 m. At horizontal fitting the distance must be < 1,3 m. |
| Ventilation: | At least one 160 mm tube for ventilation, preferably fitted with a dust filter. |
| Road: | The same as for an oil tank lorry, that means a passable road, snow ploughed and sanded, at least 4 m free height. |
