Wood powder silo for Asphalt works for NCC
During 2024, MAFA has delivered two wood powder silos with associated screw solutions to NCC’s asphalt plant in Falun with the capacity to store approx. 330m³.
It is part of their overall commitment to become 100% CO2 neutral and take steps towards a sustainable future.
Asphalt production is one of the biggest sources of emissions in the construction sector, but by thinking innovatively and technologically forward, NCC has found new ways to reduce its environmental impact. By replacing oil with wood powder when heating stone material, they are taking a big step towards reducing their carbon dioxide emissions and increasing energy efficiency.
This work began already 10 years ago, when NCC started using wood powder in its asphalt production. Since then, they have continued to invest in technological solutions that not only reduce their CO2 emissions, but also pave the way for others in the industry to follow suit.
MAFA is proud to be a part of this transformation by delivering sustainable, technological solutions that enable this progress. Together we make a difference and contribute to a greener future.
MAFA supplied 2 x XB 169 (converted for wood powder) with PST screws that feed a Tomal doser.
Together with our partners, we can offer a complete solution.
